Presenting to you our latest creative product – Notebook Cover!
This was 100% handmade, carefully put together from zero to stylo! *wink*
A useful and personalized accessory, completed with a notebook, which can be replaced with a new one by just sliding in and out of the pocket.
The whole notebook cover was made with acid and lignin free pattern papers. Before the papers were sealed with a sealer for durability, we had two areas stamped (one on the outer and one on the inner cover) and cut out two lil birdies which were then pasted on.
As the total length required by the notebook cover was longer than a standard 12”x12” pattern paper, an extension was added with the help of a sewing machine.
Applying the sealer took up quite abit of the time as we need to apply an even layer of coating, waited for 15-20 mins before brushing on another coat. Every single piece of pattern papers had a total of 3 coatings on each side. And they were left to cure for at least 2 days to avoid the papers from sticking to one another. At the end of the waiting/curing period, the papers now felt like leather.
Next was to hand stitch the pockets – a painful (fingers were poked a few times *ouch*) and slow process.
The last stage was to have a locking system on the cover – for this piece, a ribbon was selected, stamped with some wordings, sewn on and decorated with two beautiful charms.
To complete the whole look, a notebook was slotted in, a pen was clipped on at the notebook binding wire and the pockets came in handy for storing of name cards, post-it note pad, loose papers etc.
Viola! There you’ve it! Your very own notebook cover – the one and only piece in the whole wide world! *grin*
